Ecreative Team Kicks for A Good Cause

Last night, in the chilly October air, a team of Ecreative personnel—along with a few SOs and friends—stepped up to the plate in a charity kickball tournament. The event was sponsored by Sota Clothing, and all proceeds went to Still Kickin, a Minneapolis-based organization dedicated to “Helping awesome people get through awful things.” Fourteen teams and nearly two hundred competitors took to the fields at Aquila Park in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Though the night was cold, with temps hovering around 40°F, the kickball action was hot Hot HOT! Both games were closely contested affairs. In game one, we battled to a 1-1 tie on the strength of Jeromy’s stupendous pitching (and baserunning) and some stellar defense from John and Patrice, who turned an ESPN-worthy inning-ending double play. The tie game was ultimately decided by coin flip, as per tournament rules, and karma was on our side as it landed tails and sealed our victory! Unfortunately, Saved By the Ball were eliminated in the second round following a 3-1 loss that nonetheless saw more great play from our dirty dozen. (We had twelve players and some of us literally got very, very dirty.) We were just a few lucky bounces—and one slightly-less biased umpire—away from Round 3. Best of all, it was for a good cause. To learn more about Still Kickin, visit them online at www.stillkickin.co.
